Akagera National Park Safari
Big 5 Game Drives, Boat Trips & Cultural Tours |

Akagera plains comprise savannah, woodland, swamps, and multiple lakes, and their relatively warm weather makes them a premium destination for wildlife adventures in Africa.

WHY VISIT AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

Due to excessive poaching and human encroachment, Akagera was on the brink of collapse. The conservation efforts by the Rwandan government and collaboration with African Parks, it’s now one of the best destinations in Africa.

Visitors seeking a less crowded yet authentic savannah experience, this should be on their bucket list.

The park is largely open with savannah vegetation, which is ideal for game viewing. Its compact form makes it easy to view the Big 5 freely roaming.

The conservation efforts have seen the number of poachers reduce significantly, which has led to an increase in the number of park animals over the years. The number of lions has rapidly increased over the years since they were introduced in 2015, which had been absent for 15 years due to human wildlife conflict and poaching.
